Hospital Security Guards (Unarmed)

Status: OPEN  |  Full / Part-Time  |  Wildomar, CA

Join our elite healthcare security division to protect facilities, assets, staff, patients, and visitors. Maintain a high-profile presence, deter threats, and ensure safety in all circumstances.

All Hospital Security Officers uphold security by visually deterring, observing, and reporting any illegal or inappropriate activity.

Essential Position Functions

  • Protect client property and staff by maintaining a safe, secure environment
  • Screen visitors and perform temperature checks per protocol
  • Control facility access and issue visitor badges
  • Investigate disturbances as needed
  • Respond lawfully in defense of life and property
  • Admit only authorized personnel to the premises
  • Note and report unusual occurrences
  • Control emergencies, including disorderly conduct or combative patients with age-appropriate interventions
  • Conduct perimeter patrols randomly
  • Monitor building and vehicle entrances
  • Operate alarms, video, and emergency equipment as required

Position Requirements

  • Valid CA BSIS Guard Card
  • Minimum of 1-year security experience
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high-activity setting
  • Excellent interpersonal & public relations skills
  • Comfort using basic electronic devices
  • Ability to perform 6-12-hour shifts
  • Dependable transportation
  • Military/Law Enforcement experience a plus

    The BSIS (Bureau of Security and Investigative Services) is California's licensing authority for Guard Cards. Training includes "Powers to Arrest" and "Weapons of Mass Destruction" courses.

Frequently Asked Questions

The State of California requires all security officers (uniformed or plain clothed), loss prevention agents, bodyguards, bouncers, night watchmen, or those related to security, access control, theft prevention, and protection to possess a valid Guard Card.

Your Guard Card is valid for two years from the date of issue and allows you to work for any PPO (what is a PPO?) or proprietary security employer. Guard Cards are issued by BSIS. We provide the training, but the State of California issues the Guard Card and makes the approval determination.

The Guard Card course is an 8-hour training covering two parts. The first four hours are "Power to Arrest" (PTA) - a self-paced study and open book exam. The second is "Weapons of Mass Destruction" (WMD), including video lectures and a written test. PTA requires 100% correct; WMD requires 80% or better.
